generation

I recently have enjoyed a few videos on generational astrology, which along with mundane astrology is one of the areas that I do find engaging. Larger scale trends are always an interesting source of potential data, and they also manage to get away from some of the self obsession of focusing on personality. We all... Continue Reading →

Citizen Covid

Not exactly a small subject, but big is sometimes easy to look at with astrology. Of course we are a reasonable way down the line with this story, so no danger of amazing feats of psychic prognostication here, but it might be interesting. The time I have chosen to erect a chart for is the... Continue Reading →

Mr Riddle

I am a bit of a Harry Potter nut (a Slytherin fan myself), and also being into astrology, it was kinda inevitable that I would end up conjecturing about some of the characters in astrological terms. I don't think JK Rowling is a great writer as such, but she has done something extraordinary in creating... Continue Reading →

snake speech

We really do have an extraordinary opportunity coming in 2020, which centres on the fusion of Saturn and Pluto's energies in the sign of Capricorn. But not only are these planets conjunct in January of next year, but they are also conjunct their own South Nodes. Pluto and Saturn have been within orb of conjunction... Continue Reading →

The Astrology of Satan

a new look at an old devil, again

Summer Thunder

The title of this post might make it sound a bit grand and authoritative, but it is just some associations that I can trace for the being we call “Satan” – The Devil.

A clear reflection can be seen in the astrological Saturn: dweller on the threshold, Lord of this world, tester and opposition that all consciousness must push against in order to actualise work, and thus power. In tradition he is regarded as the “greater malefic”, because, well life is hard (resistant at the material level) and Saturn is all about the bottom line. But Saturn is also the initiator, the gate keeper, the demand of maturity and growth. Saturn by placement shows that part of experience where we feel denied, deficient, unable, failed. But this is only so until we find how to fulfil that area of experience as ourselves, in the way that is truly authentic…

the biggest little planet in the world

I write today about that Reno Nevada of astrology, Mars. Of all the personal planets, I think Mars is the most underestimated, and that is because we would only come to understand it in a post-Copernican world, and moreover in a post-Plutonic world. In fact I do not believe it can be understood without a... Continue Reading →

depth and mutilation

new senses of Sedna

Summer Thunder

Yesterday I was chatting by text with my sister about astrology, and I mentioned that for the first time I  felt I had really accepted the water and the Capricorn in myself. I had only recently felt like I was getting a handle on Neptune in Pisces, its anti-glamour, archaic, timeless, liquid connectivity (a bit like a network of Cronenbergesque  imaginative flesh spectres, an ancient world of them, doing the transdimensional work our conscious minds try to substitute for). I can’t say too much about it, but now here I am, profoundly comfortable with the eerie and shadowed and uncanny.

This morning I had a dream in which I had lost my fingers, or at least quite a number of them, though the stumps were already perfectly healed. I wasn’t overly concerned in the dream, though I was a little anxious to not lose any more of them. On waking I immediately…

the descent into heaven

Many people interested in astrology will be aware of the idea of the "procession of the equinoxes", whereby we move from one astrological age to another. Famously we are meant to be on the brink of the Age of Aquarius, having passed through the Age of Pisces (more or less). It's always a matter of... Continue Reading →

Your survival guide to the July Full Moon

Let's be practical about this, you just need to know how to get through a Full Moon, right? The key to this one is individuality, and individuality and creativity have support here, for North node forms a grand trine with Uranus and Saturn in fire. Saturn is retrograde in Sagittarius - it's quieter, more mellow,... Continue Reading →
